What is lolita fashion?

Lolita fashion is a Japanese street fashion from the district of Harajuku, Tokyo.

It is inspired by Rococo and Victorian eras.

It has nothing to do with the book by Vladimir Nabokov or the movie from Stanley Kubrick.

Lolita dresses can be worn by people of any gender, not only women. There are also a "boy style" lolita substyles called "ouji" ("prince" in Japanese) that is also worn by all genders, not only men. The main substyles are Classic lolita, Sweet lolita and Gothic lolita.
